Istituto della Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani

Founded on February 18, 1925, through the initiative of Giovanni Treccani degli Alfieri and Giovanni Gentile, the Institute of the Italian Encyclopaedia was established with the mission of creating, updating, publishing, and disseminating the Enciclopedia Italiana di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti. One hundred years later, the Institute remains a multidisciplinary point of reference for Italian excellence; an ever-evolving institution, constantly oriented towards the future. As Treccani enters its second century of activity, it remains faithful to its original mission while simultaneously expanding its scope through new initiatives in the fields of education, the arts, and the promotion of reading and of the Italian language worldwide.
